On the subject of programmes - has anybody watched 'The Season' on BBC Switch which is a dramatised reality series about a group of ten teenagers who descend on Val d'Isère for their gap year?
It's so hideous it's compulsive viewing! Today, Hari & Holly realise there's only one modelling contract & they both want it. Abi takes Jay on a romantic weekend but Tom & Alex have other ideas. Sometimes, when they aren't falling out with each other or trying to sort out their seemingly impossibly complicated love lives, they go skiing (or boarding). They all also say "like" far too much & are generally totally annoying. I'm obviously far too old for it, but will no doubt sit down at 1.35 pm, flick onto BBC2 & proceed to have a rant for the next 30 minutes or so! (It may be on for longer but that's as much as I can take in one sitting)!! Please bring back 'On the Piste'!!! |

Are you talking about me - that's where I'm going for Christmas & New Year?    (OK I confess, I'm not actually staying in Megeve itself, but nearby St.Gervais - but I will be skiing there & I didn't even make it onto the Times Rich List this year!!) . |

http://www.mountainpassions.com/index.html - Check out this site for info on Megeve - and St. Gervais, Combloux & Les Contamines which are covered on the same pass.
I've skied in both Morzine & Megeve, but not stayed in either. I've enjoyed skiing in both but my guess is that Morzine will have more of a 'party' scene than Megeve. I'm not bothered about partying so personally would go for the good deal in Megeve - it depends what your priorities are. Let us know which you decide on. |

Snow depth is now about 55cm. Walking to work this morning in the half light was quite surreal  - only abandoned cars on the road! I could almost imagine that I was walking to the boulangerie for my croissants - then I remembered where I really was.:( |

In the interest of statistics, I've just been out into my garden & measured a snow depth of 25cm - & it's still snowing (North Notts/South Yorkshire border)! Hubby had to use his snow chains to get home from work tonight, which he was very excited about
Thank goodness we could get to Sheffield last night to see the Warren Miller film - I'd have been miffed if the weather had stopped us getting there! |

I think Admin Man should put a cap on the number of postings allowed on this thread!
