We are a family of 4 (boys aged 13 & 11) skiing together for the first time next Feb, in Whistler. We need complete skiwear for the boys and have been tempted by the very attractively priced dare 2b ski wear packages, available online. I have discovered that it is a budget brand but wonder if they would be fine for 1st time skiers. Has anyone tried them? What about skiwear for adults? Ours are over 15 years old and looks dated!

I think various brands were discussed on the other thread "I'm in the market for a jacket and some salopettes....." (or something like that). Taking a look over that might help. Someone's just commented on it again so it's easy to find.
For what it's worth I have found them ok. I had a jacket which I've worn for 3 ski hols and am only changing now because I'm bored of it really. I'm guessing these outfits will only fit your boys for a year or so at most anyway as they're still growing. There are better and more expensive brands out there, it just depends how much you want to spend.

I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

Hello StressyMum! Have you thought about second hand or even freecycle/cheapcycle? I used to live in South Bucks and there are a lot of schools in your area who go on ski trips. I got my son and daughter their first ski outfits this way (which had only been worn for one trip).
I think there used to be a 2nd hand 'designer' shop in Great Missenden High Street which had ski gear also.
Good Luck!

Dare 2 Be is OK - not the most stylish but cheap.
Try TKMaxx - they often have last year's styles at reduced price.

The British Ski Academy use Dare2be clothing and the kids use it all winter down to temps of -20c
IMO its very good stuff.

I'd add a third thumbs up for dare2be. My wife had a jacket and pants for for a few seasons. As other have said, not cutting edge style, but looks OK, and works well for average use. Zippers, and seams etc have lasted.
because I'm so inclined .....
