I am just wondering what opinions people have of both resorts as i have to make a descision soon about going to either as the flights are booked to Geneva. There is 6 lads going and all are reasonable skiiers. I have driven through Morzine on my way to Avoiraz so have a bit of an idea but have no idea about Megeve.
We are looking for good skiing which both seem to have but a bit of nightlife would be good too.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. There is about 8 inches of snow outside my house in Dublin now! Looks great.
Morzine or Megeve?

Not too bad at all. Its a few years since I was there but it was fine. Driving down from Avoiraz in a complete white was a different story though.

i love morzine so i am too biased to answer properly but if you went there you would not be disappointed-quiet, very french, beautiful and tons of good tree skiing

Anyone?
I really need to make a decision on a hotel in the next day or two and can find very little info about Megeve but the hotel deal there is far better value than Morzine.

hi, i was in megeve a few years ago. really liked skiing there but nightlife was not great if you were not looking for romantic spots... on the other hand it is close enough to chamonix if you want to drive to party ... never been to morzine though

Clients of mine go to Megeve every year. Its very high brow and pricey in resort too, so they tell me. Only 1 of them skis now, but he says the skiing is pleasant.
The old town is supposed to be lovely.

http://www.mountainpassions.com/index.html - Check out this site for info on Megeve - and St. Gervais, Combloux & Les Contamines which are covered on the same pass.
I've skied in both Morzine & Megeve, but not stayed in either. I've enjoyed skiing in both but my guess is that Morzine will have more of a 'party' scene than Megeve.
I'm not bothered about partying so personally would go for the good deal in Megeve - it depends what your priorities are. Let us know which you decide on.
