I've just widened the opposite end of my pole near the basket with some tape and attach the proper handlebar mount to that. Its also a lot better to carry and you use the proper pole grip to hold, not the basket end. And it won't fall off, whereas this one looks like it could.

Worth a try but the original is tough elastic that i suspect removes camera shake.
Worth a shot.

We are going to try the backpack one for definate but i will check the pole one out when we get there! Trouble is I havent bought the pole mount as yet was trying to keep the cost down and try the diy tips first, going to definately try the attach to ski boot as well !

Im not sure i would want to ski with a pole outstretched with the sharp pointy end aimed at my torso.

That is also going to be a PITA to take on and off to ski normally. Use the handle bar mount, I leave the mount on all the time and just remove the camera to ski normally.
