Hi All

Does anybody know Andalo, small Italian place with 50 km piste, and no draglifts. But is it any good for my familys fifth skivacation. Has previously been in Sweden and Norway, and liked the houses and afterski we did ourselves, in the rented house/flat.

But what are your experience?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I've been there.
we went with Equity Total ski (as they were called then - now Rocket Ski ) Equity do the schools part I believe)

We went in early March 2002 and stayed in a Hotel called The Continental which is right at the bottom of the slopes, a few minutes walk from a chairlift.

I remember a gondola in the village itself which was easier to access from the other hotels as the chair by us was a bit of a walk for them.
The chair lifts on the slopes were good, one had a cover and my Mum who was only learning was allowed to travel down on chairlifts which is often not possible.

The village is nice, there was a couple of great pizza restaurants there.

The skiing was adequate for us as a family group with 2 kids aged 6 & 8, but I wouldn't go there now as the area would not be sufficient.

I really liked it there, if I was starting out skiing with a family I'd go there again. If you are good skiers you might get a bit bored with the area. I think you can extensions to nearby resorts - possible Madonna di Campiglio.

Have you considered Claviere? Same kind of place but larger ski area available.
