Went to Alpe D'Huez in 1999; spent one day with a Ski Club rep doing nothing but steep, black runs! Fantastic.
Agree with you Tony that it should be in the big league alongside Val D'Isere and the Three Valleys. I preferred it to the more highly regarded Les Arcs and La Plagne, I think.

No worries, I just hope my report encourages more people to go, or gives someone something useful who is going there.
I can safely say that I have never skied in such perfect conditions as I did on Friday - blue skies, sunshine, no wind, prefectly groomed pistes covered in 15cm of fresh snow......awesome.
