Alpe d'Huez in words and pictures

Next time, assuming there is a next time. Probably. We did mess about at the bottom of Lac Blanc where the tunnel comes in to the off piste chair though.....
PS- totally agree with this ^
.... me too.
The only thing we did extra was go to the night skiing which was really good fun. It was on the fairly steep blue at Signal. We found ourselves with young boarders and other Brits! (reminded us of "mad dogs and English men"!)
The snow was perfect and the lighting gave us the best visibility we had for 2 days. The unlit piste to the right was groomed just before the lights went on and enough light spread over to have perfect runs down there too.
Perfect pistes, perfect light and very few people, lots of fun .... not much else to ask for. :D

Hi Tony
Great report and beautiful pics. The snow gods clearly gave you some compensation for the delays on the way out
Glad you enjoyed the place. It would rate very highly on my list of favourite resorts.
I take it you didn't get around to the Tunnel :?: . I have resisted the tempation on my two visits. Not sure I need that level of stress in my life or that my knees would cope

Great photos, and you deserved to have a really good time after the nightmare trip! The conditions you had, don't get much better than that :D

Nope, I really didnt feel the need. Had we skied the other 2 days, I probably would have done, but I am with you on wanting to enjoy my skiing and not put myself under too much stress in the first 4 days! We did the Sarenne on the last day as I didnt want to go to ADH and not do it, although I have to say I didnt particularly enjoy it, but thats probably because we had just had such a full on morning, so my legs were pretty shot, and in addition it was well above freezing on the mid section!!!!Wanderer wrote:Hi Tony
