Tony_H, I used RocketSki for a trip to France. The booking, flights, transfers, ski-pass purchase, ski&boot hire, and hotel check-in/out all went smoothly. I don't expect anything more from a non-premium tour operator and also as part of a group of guys going skiing we just wanted to ski.

Perfect. Thats exactly all I want from a tour operator - get on my flight, pick me up at the airport, deliver me to my accommodation, and pick me up the next week to take me back for my flight home. The rest I can do myself.

Having not come across them before, I was hoping to find someone who had used them, especially in the light of the (now deleted) sarcastic and tongue in cheek comments like "Oh no, not them, have you paid them any money?"

Thanks iLoveSkiing. So do I, by the way )

So, can we answer Tony's question - has anyone used them?

Of course, sending pm's with the salutation "Morning Trouble" is bound to produce a veritable fountain of data..innit Tony :D

How does: "Anyone got any experience of them?" not actually mean "Has anyone used them?" Pedantic or not, I think the original question was fairly clearly aimed at people who had used them for holidays before. There were no cryptic elements hidden away in there.

Unfortunately, several people thought it was a good idea to be smart arses and post comments, suggesting that they knew something bad about this company, without giving any justification. THAT'S why you, and 2 other people, got PM's asking them what they knew about the company in question, to find out if they actually did have any experience, or if they were just having some banter. Well, at least 1 of the people actually had the decency to reply, and to inform me that they were just joining in with what appeared to be some banter, and didnt have any experience of Rocket Ski.

Quite why you should get so offended by the opening salutation of my PM, which was intended to be friendly, is beyond me. Anyway, I assume from your lack of response that you actually do not have any experience of this company yourself?

Thought so.

I dont understand the relevance of that question, seeing as they are ATOL protected.

touchy today Tony :?: unlike you. I'm sure you'll be fine and look on the bright side, if they do go pop whilst you're over there you could possibly squeeze in an extra few days skiing while thye sort out how to get you home
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

Not at all. I just get annoyed when people cant give a straight answer and get all precious about it.

With regards to Ross' question, it simply isnt relevant. I believe people have a misconception that you only get your money back if a company (like XL) goes bust. However, if they are ATOL protected, it matters not how you paid, you will be reimbursed by the CAA. I believe that its flight only bookings or non ATOL protected purchases that would be able to reclaim if they booked with a credit card.

I think the point may have been that those who booked online using XL.com weren't entitled to a refund under the ATOL scheme but would have been covered if they booked with a credit card rather than a debit card. Anyway, spill the beans, where, when and how cheap

Tony_H since you think I'm a smart arse I'll be happy to oblige :D
As for the opening salutation in your pm to me, I consider it to be inappropriately chummy.
