:Dhi,i can whole heartedly reccommend les arcs,it has one of the most underated ski areas in europe, most skiers do not give it a second thought as they are skiing the so caled trendy mega resorts. But while the likes of val and tignes up the road may be larger, les arcs has runs and off piste to match them, also as the other resorts can get over crowded at certain times of the day (some dangerously so) the les arcs area remains crowd free for most of the time, although as with most resorts in france Feb can be busier due to school holidays.
Also in its favour are the resorts of La Rosiere,Ste.Foy whci are a short drive away, also along with the restaurant Le Ferme in Le Pre,Auberge le Perce Neige in Viclaire,L'Ancolie near vallandry and several restaurants in Bourg-Saint-Maurice you have some of the best places to eat in the alps.
A good run is the Aiguille Rouge all the way down to Le Pre,you can stop off half way down for lunch at Onre's and then ski all the way down to le Pre for a glass or two of Mutzig in Le Ferme,Michelles wife is an excellent cook also(bookings for evening meals usually required).
many regards

If public transport doesn't fit there's at least one car hire company in Bourg St.Maurice (Europcar I think). Might be worth enquiring if you can get a one-way hire to the airport. I'd be surprised if they don't get one-ways coming out from Grenoble so they might cut you a deal to get a car back there.

:Dhi,
for a listof companies offering transfers to and from Grenoble airport and thier contact details here is a link (hopefully i have done it correctly) http://www.grenoble-airport.com/-On-demand-transfer-.html .
Fail in that if you go to the Grenoble airport homepage on the left hand side you will see a tab -access,parking & transfers ,then scheuled coach transfers or on demand trasfers,by clicking on one of these you will get alist of the transfer companies and the contact details etc.
hope this helps

Hi Gargoyle63
I'm making the same journey next weekend and came across the smae problems. If there are only two people then private transfers are very expensive - the only option was www.agbus.fr which has a round trip to BSM for 80 euros each, then there are a number of option to get from Bourg to the resorts. I found for me that I would have a 4 1/2 hour wait for the coach at Grenoble as we land a 8.30 as the first coach does not leave till 2pm missing out on slope time. I have concluded that car hire will be the easiest option although more expensive still much cheaper than the private transfers! if you get any better advice please let me know.
