Hi,
I can only echo jonG's comments about Les Arcs-like him I loved it so much I bought there!
I own in 1800 and to be honest, if you're in to mad apres ski look elsewhere. There are however many bars, live music and a club and I usually last until 3am but it's not Ibiza.
The skiing is awesome. It's a pity the Vanoise Express cable car linking with La Plagne is shut this season but you can still drive to La Plagne or Courchevel/ 3 Valleys, Espace Killy for a day's FREE skiing with your Les Arcs pass! To be honest you won't get bored just staying in Les Arcs!

I loved les arcs.
We stayed in 1800 and found a couple of brilliant bars and three restaurants that we absolutely loved. Only down side for me is that the area at the bottom of the main slopes isn't that lovely, the bars don't look onto the slopes and it's very uneven so you keep falling off your chair!
I only got one day on the mountain before i got injured but got over to 1950 and had a fantastic lunch.
Rest of the family got to ski the whole area, very rarely skiing the same run twice, and we're all dying to go back. Me particularly so I can fly down and laugh in the face of the bump that caused my injury!

I would recommend staying in the cheaper centres of 2000, 1800 or 1600 then skiing to the middle of (expensive) 1950 for some nice bars. There's one called OChaud that's really cool as well as the Belle Pinte.
The Red Hot Saloon bar in 1800 is nice with pool table and dance floor.

Having read your reviews and having skied at many of the european 'trendy' resorts i am keen to sample Les Arcs.
I am an advanced 2 plank skier (Salomon x-wing Furys) and a keen Mono skier which is my first snow sliding passion. 8)
Being single, middle aged and not suffering a male mid-life crisis i am quite content to leave the young 'uns to their all night apre ski scene and with a minimum of Poma /T-bar Tows and open mountain runs Les Arcs seems to be what i am looking for.
