Hi,
I stayed in Arc 1800 last year in March... the skiing was absolutely superb and definitely as good as Tignes/Val, there are some lovely tree lined runs to Peisey Vallandry for when the weather closes in ( which it did every day last year!)And some challenging red's all over the place as well as nice easy cruises. I spent a week there and didn't ski every run!!! However Arc 1800 is not a great place to stay, it seemed totally deserted and reminded me of an abandoned theme park! There are very few places to go out in the eve and the 1 restaurant recommended to us was well below average. We did go up for lunch at Arc 1950 which is really nice and would definitely recommend staying somewhere up there. If you do decide to go have a great time!

Excellent... glad you had a good time. Not yet stayed at 1950 but may well do in the future, given your positive experience. Hope to be heading down that way myself in March, fingers crossed.

:Dhi,
with response to Admins reply regarding the "Europcar" office in Bourg-saint-maurice,it is located on the main road through BSM opposite the cinema ,near the top ofthe Rue de Montrigon.
If booking with Europcar, you may want to try Autoeurope 0800 169 9797,as they deal with Europcar but can be better for prices.
many regards

Thanks for all your comments - believe it or not the cheapest option was a new flight on the Saturday morning and getting a free ride on an operators coach!
This means that I have easyjet tickets ( 1 adult, 1 12 year old )for Grenoble to Gatwick ( 1 way only )for the 15th of Feb. Can't get a refund - so up for grabs - it will cost £17.50 to change the names on the ticket(s) - anyone interested - seems a pity if they go to waste. I'm based in London
Thanks once again

Les Arcs is great, for all levels of skier, you will not get bored here.
We have a chalet in |Villaroger and the guests love Les Arcs as it has so much to offer and fab restaurants too.
If you are into wine then you must try the newly opened Cave at Le Monal, Ste Foy Village one evening.

We stayed in the main Radisson building, Manoir Savoie and it was brilliant. We had 1 bedroom classic apartment, and compared to French standards, it was huge!! Clean, new, efficient, friendly...can`t rave enough...going back in March!!

A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office !

:Dhi,
glad you enjoyed Les Arcs, many skiers do not give it a second thought as they wind thier way up to Tignes and Val but they are missing out on one of the underated gems of the alps,in fact most people i have met while skiing in Les Arcs who are there for the first time say they will give the trendy mega resorts a miss and are newly converted to the area.
With plenty of slopes of various gradients and the wonderfull off piste routes the area is a match and in some cases more than for many of the other major resorts. Also in its favour is the fact that for those in the know there are many fantastic restaurants dotted up and down the valley within easy drive that are amongst the best anywhere.
For those that choose to go to Paradiski, they are richly rewarded, and some have fallen under the local savoyard spell and never gone home.
many regards
