Not a good start to the day, we arrived at Saint-Luc and I realised I'd forgotten to pick up my helmet, hat and gloves, since we'd aimed to go for a short tour the helmet wasn't a big deal but hat and gloves are useful, I'd got a brimmer and luckily David had a fleece hat spare but the gloves looked a show stopper until I had the brainwave of calling a friend who lives in Saint-Luc and borrowing some gloves.

After this start we rode the lifts up to the high point of Saint Luc, the Bella Tolla, and traversed around the peak to get to our line. Looking in :

And then a look back at the Orxival where we skied yesterday, it's the one on the right with some sun hitting it:

And then we're in our line skiing down into deserted valley:

About here the wind picked up and David realised he'd left his hard shell at home, so we've barely got a full set of kit between us

Then it's a quick a 300m climb out to the col, it's the first time I've climbed with the Kilowatts and I wasn't sure if my skins would fit, they're about 7mm too narrow but they seem to work fine. David wasn't having so much luck though, his skins weren't holding well and he resorted to using my crampons for some extra grip.

After another descent to another damn, we climb out again on a 200m section, have a late lunch and drop by my friends chalet to return the gloves and some tea and home made cake, not a bad day

You don't want an influx of Scottish folk in Zinal, your continued ski-porn will make that a reality for you

Slopes look good, what were the conditions like?

Senile? It's the St-Luc Effect I reckon. ISTR a while back, you getting to St-Luc and realising you'd forgotten your boot liners. It seems to be catching as well. The both of you clearly need a laminated list ) If you do one for David, could you put my photo and name on it, as he forgot who I was when I spoke to him last, so you could be right with your initial assessment.

Reads like the both of you need to spend an hour sorting out your kit
