It is being reported that the ski areas in Canton Graubünden in eastern Switzerland will close from 06:00 on 16.3.2020 (Monday) until at least 30th April.

This has now been confimed by the cantonal government.

The decision is likely to be made for you. Resorts are closing down and ski ops sending staff home.
Spain expected to close borders within the week.

J2SkiNews wrote:Several resorts in the Spanish Pyrenees have announced they're closing from tomorrow. They are Cerler, Formigal-Panticosa and Valdelinares ski resorts run by the Aramón group. It seems to be a group decision rather than something the government has forced on them, and so far other major ski areas in the Pyrenees seem to be operating normally.

Ski areas in France are increasingly highlighting that they are still open in social media, presumably to counter-balance all the rumours of imminent closure for them too, but of course who knows what today or tomorrow will bring.

Baqueira beret closed today.

Crystal cancelled our trip to Obergurgl last night. My son is a ski instructor out there so real shame. Heard on the news at lunch time that the Austrian prime minister is closing all shops and cafes and restaurants can only open in certain times...

It now seem to be all Swiss resorts closing(?). Have seen Saas Fee and Verbier announcements. Believe all Spanish areas closed too now.

French resorts are still hanging in there. It feels like business as usual in the Grand Massif. Things have changed so much since I arrived in France 2 weeks ago. I am heading home tomorrow. Both my and Mrs Jimbob's offices are closed for at least the next 2 weeks so I don't feel like I am escaping from France to the safety of home.

Still seems to be business as usual here in Serre Chevalier. Arrived last Sunday via Turin, being flown home tomorrow via Chambery.

Great snow when we arrived as it had snowed all last week and was cold. The heatwave arrived on Wednesday and no fresh snow due for another week so take that into account as well.getting very mushy by midday.

People going to Italian Alps arrived on Sunday and flown home on Tuesday!

Yep despite all the rumours French resorts seem adamant they're staying open until Monsieur Macron says otherwise. Seeing first US resorts are closing, mostly small places (some look to have just closed a week or two earlier than they would have as snow not great anyway). Taos in New Mexico maybe biggest name so far but they're staying open another week and closing early on 22nd.
