First of all, less of the 'Miss' please gents, I've been married 23 years so am definitely a 'Mrs' - or perhaps 'Ms' to the more politically correct. Secondly on the whole helmets debate I just thought you'd like to be kept updated on the latest development - love it or hate it... Maybe we need to take a vote on whether to ever have another helmet story again??? Oh and for the absence of doubt - I've always been the one and only J2SkiNews, there've been no changes, and Admin is someone else.

PS On the helmet wearing rules, I knew about Italy being obligatory for under 14s and thought it was for France too but it seems not. A few obscure places - New Jersey in the US, Nova Scotia in Canada and Lower Austria also have it as a legal requirement and apparently Norway and Slovenia do too.

Also, helmet earing is mandatory in Upper Austria. In Tirol, it is custom and practice for Austrian under 16s to wear helmets.

This is the right way to go about it. By the time the young ones are 16, they don't think twice about wearing. From my experience with young locals, there is a social stigma attached to not wearing a helmet.

Hi Mrs J2SkiNews - I knew I was right and you were female 8)

Actually I knew you were a Mrs as well (because of what you said before), but I just thought Miss J2SkiNews sounded more effective somehow - so sorry for that :oops:

I don't mind if you write stories about helmets, but I'm not going to take part in the helmet debate again because I said everything I wanted to say about it the first time. But I'm quite happy to wibble on about other things on your helmet threads - like whether you're male or female :wink: :lol:

Putting the helmet debate to one side for a moment. I suspect that, if the insurers' motivation is to reduce accidents, then they would be better off offering large discounts to those who can prove they have had at least 3 days of lessons with an accredited instructor.
