I expect it only flies on Saturday though, Pablo.

I had this problem when I was looking for flights from Cardiff to Geneva in October. I had to go to Bristol and even then, there was only one flight per day.

I hope Sami finds a way of getting home. He has had a terrible time lately. What a holiday!

Sami - terrible news, the very best of luck to you.

Snowb4ndit - I wouldn't be at all suprised if the schools arrange another round of interviews due to lack of candidates able to make it through the severe weather conditions. surely they'd be shooting themselves in the foot otherwise.

Any news on whether the skis and luggage made it to ADH?

Had text from Tony this morning saying they had half a meter of snow over night. Yesterday he said they had everything they needed to ski apart from Mrs H's salopettes. We were already at the airport at that point so too late to lend her mine. I presume they are skiing today and I'm sure they will be having a fab time on that powder!

Sami_glasgow.............bless your wee cotton socks!!
Only you know if it can be fixed or not. My Mum always said that there were 3 sides to every story - his , hers and the actual one. But to the outsider looking in it seems that if she is selfish enough to ruin what should have been an amazing trip then that pretty much says all you need to know. I guess you're better to find that out now..............shame. Hope you get home safe and sound.

Sami,
I'm sorry to hear you missed booking your direct flight back to Glasgow. I hope you have return tickets on the train to get you from London to Glasgow, because I expect they're quite expensive.

Once you get back to your Mum I expect you'll be okay. Mums are great at making everything okay again, even with their grown up kids :D

What a week, I have to say one of the best. Though so sorry to hear all of the problems others have had. Only one we had was the chalet's advertised wi-fi connection didn't work so I was unable to log on.
Firstly Sami, so sorry to hear about your break up. Great to meet you at the airport, if I'd read the contents of this thread before getting home today, I'd have invited you to ski with us. Hope all works out for the best in the end.

The only forum member I met up with in resort was Snowb4ndit, great to meet you and Tim. Hope next time it's on the slopes. Sorry about the text mix up, phone playing up stopped me saving numbers.

So, the holiday. Firstly we were incredibly lucky, we got to resort with only a small delay. We sat in the aircraft at Stansted for an hour and a half while they waited for a slot. Not an issue when you hear about the problems others had. Chambery closed as soon as we landed.

The snow conditions were some of the best I've skied in, three clears days with perfect snow, then a powder day (chest high in places), one of poor vis then another clear one to finish.

Here are a few photos:
