You do get a bit of cultural comparison Tino, but nothing like being able to meet with people from different Euro countries.

Heck, that was some journey to SA.

How did you get that price for business class? Airmiles?

Yeah, nearly all my airmiles, but it was worth it.

Breakdown on travel:

Home to Frankfurt Airport 1.5 hours
Waitin around at Frankfurt 2.0 hours
Flight to Madrid 2.0 hours
Transit 1.5 hours
Flight to Santiago 12.5 hours
Immigration and baggage claim 1.5 hours
Transfer to resort 2.5 hours

Most I did was 30 hours to Christchurch. So 8 hours to Colorado, its a peanut.

Wouldn't argue the toss between Colorado and mid Canada though. Need Pablo to give a costing/quality scenario.

Thanks for all the advice - especially Dave Mac for the costings - I reckon its a January trip to Europe and a late booking to US or Canada in March

Glasgow-->Calgary is slightly different each way but I think it averages at about 8 hours.

As for cost I have no real idea, looking at going to Banff in January and the only killer is the lift pass, apart from that it is 6 or 7 hundred quid a head for decent 4 * accommodation close to the centre of town 8)

Edit: you would get 10 days for that ^ cost, flying from Glasgow makes things a little more complicated ;)
