Whats the drive like from Pas to Soldeu and is there free Parking near to the lifts in Soldeu. Also is worth the trip for the Blue runs.

We went to Pas last year 5 of us had never skied ,4 had been quite a few times.
After 2 days + 2x2hr lessons we were comfortable on the PAS Blues slopes.Day 3 we decided to go over the top to Grau Roig with the 4 others who had skied before. We took the blue run but we struggled at the top half of the slope we were going to get a bus back they seemed to of stopped running that day.So we took the lift back to the top but there only seems to be red runs back down into pas until they join up with the blues.
Me and 2 others bottled it and took the lift down back to Pas
We are going to have a few more lessons before we try Soldeu or are the Blue runs to much for us and stick to PAS

thanks nyck

Hi Nyck

Haven't been to Soldeu for a while but did 6 winters there originally. It was always great for beginner - intermediates. I think you'll have a great time!

You can park in the big underground car park on the left as you drive into town. Its all part of the main gondola out of village.

As any of the instructors for the loup "Round the World" - good warm up greens and blues in a big circuit. (aprox 1 hr) And blues down to Canillo are lush if the snow is good.

The drive is about 15/20 mins. You could park at Grau and ski to Soldeu... then you wouldn't have to worry about "bottling it" again! Haha!

Have fun

It is only a couple of miles and a couple of hairpins, 15 mins depending on conditions.

And by the way daily lessons will help with your enjoyment.

I meant to say "ASK any of the instructors for DIRECTIONS for the loup "Round the World"

And Ian's right - its 15mins on a good run.

Grau Roij (spelling??) is 10 mins with massive outdoor carpark.

And of course I agree - lessons always a winner!

Just a thought but do you really think 2x2 hour lessons are enough to prepare you for skiing, if you had
taken the option of lessons everyday you might have been in a better situation to enjoy the mountains more this year.
My Suggestion for this year is splash the cash and have lessons every day be it private or group it will enhance your skiing and it will push you on towards the more difficult runs and in turn build your confidence.

Your dead right we should of had more lessons. As we went on the same blue runs time after time we had a False confidence thinking we were the bee's knee's and we could tackle any Blue run.Going over the top and taking the blue run into Grau proved we were at best Rubbish.

Some of the group are skin flints so even if they dont want the lessons i will.

thanks nyck
