Been looking at getting to Switzerland for next season for a week, but cant decide where would be best. I always travel out of peak weeks, so not too concerned about the busier resorts, but cant decide between Zermatt, Laax, Jungfrau (Wengen in particular), or Crans Montana.
Reading about them, they all seem to offer what I like in terms of decent mileage, but I dont know anyone personally who has been to any of them, apart from Ellistine who said Wenger was great.
I'd like to get a balanced view from people who been to one or some or all of these resorts if possible.

I'd go with Zermatt, I skied Crans Montana for a week last year and really enjoyed it - but that was because of the group i was with rather than the diversity of the sking, I'd have been getting board after 3/4 days otherwise (though the resort bars and hotels were very enjoyable). Now Zermattt on the other hand I still want to get back to again and explore more...
Save Crans for a short break sometime.

Hi
I know it's not in your list but you may wish to consider 4 Valleys, you can also easily get to Nax, Arolla and Evoléne are also close by.
4 Valleys have over 400km of piste have a look at www.4vallees.ch
We have spent three seasons here, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Regards Helen

Tony i enjoyed Wengen although we didnt get to ski it much as the lift`s were closed due to avalanche alert ( about 3 days )So we were bused to Stockalp. Wengen is like being in a time warp but very pretty.
Have you thought about Engleberg ?

Have to go with Zermatt, recommend Hotel Atlanta, for hospitality, value and balcony views of the Matterhorn. No after-dinner bar though.
Main downside to Zermatt is access to the mountain. 140 people in a cabine is not funny.
