Hi All,

I agree with some of the other posts about Niseko becoming "Little Australia". As an Aussie myself, I hate it when places get over-run by too many visitors.

For the last two years myself and a group of friends have been skiing in Furano and t is wonderful. A good mix of run types, a long cruiser that runs for just over 4 kms, etc etc.

Within easy driving distance (about 1 hr) are the mountains of Kamui and Tomamu .... and for the real powder hounds hit Ashidake for waist-deep Japan champagne powder.

Staying at the North Country Inn is recommended. Great value at about US$90 a night including breakfast and lift ticket! Unbeatable !!

If you happen to be in Furano in late February 08, look for the gang wearing Screamin Ski Tour jackets and say g'day.
