Hi guys,
Anyone have an ideas for a week skiing on 31st Jan for a week in France? We are flying to Geneva and will drive up to a couple of hours. There will be about 6 blokes and we need to sort out some where to stay for the week.
If anyone has any suitable accomodation let me know.
We are not to fussy, hotel or appartment would be cool.
Thanks Gar. :)

Lots of resorts within a 2 hour drive from Geneva. Chamonix probably being one of the closest. La Clusaz, Tignes/Val d'Isere aren't THAT far away, Courchevel (and rest of 3 Valleys). The list goes on....

Hi Gareth,
Our newly extended Map of Ski Resorts near Geneva shows the locations of around 100 different resorts within 2 hours drive...
Unless the snow fails you should have plenty of choice for that week and should be just before the half term peak weeks.
What level of ability are your group and are you looking to party or to ski?

Good map !
Are all those Jura ones still in full operation for downhill skiing though? I'm always wonder just how far from GVA they are as well, the roads aren't too good.
Some missing as well, Moléson, La Berra, Granges-Pacot, Les Mosses, La Lecherette and some others maybe. I'll look another time, just running out the door to catch a lift and back tomorrow.....

The map is good thanks,
but accomodation is our main aim now,
Anyone have an apartment or a hotel that will take us for a week from a Thursday to a Thursday in Val d Ìsere or Courchevel or pretty much anywhere in the area?Or any ideas in other resorts?
As long as there is more snow than last season were all gonna be happy.
Our level would be all pretty good intermediates but we would like a bit of a challenge to push ourselves and would like to ski hard enough.Night life is not that important, were a bunch of Irish blokes...we`ll find a pub! :)
Thanks again,Gar.

I see Abondance is on there. Isn't that the resort in the news recently for deciding to pull the plug in it's skiing operation? Are all those Jura ones still in full operation for downhill skiing though?

Good map :D , like ise I can see some Swiss resorts are missing. Are there plans to add in the detail?
ellistine I think you're right about Abondance. I'm sure I read about it a few months ago, shame really.
Gareth Fair, as you want to go to France, have you contacted the relevant Tourist Offices, or had a look at the websites offering private holiday lets yet?
If that has yielded nothing then try Logis de France, many of their small hotels do offer the flexibility you need.

Thanks for the comments on the maps guys, I've now opened a thread here for you to give some Feedback on the Ski Resort Maps.
ise - we'll be adding some more resorts to the maps over the next week or so but I'm keen to include as many of the smaller stations as we can, so please let me know if we miss one of your local spots.
TBH, I haven't had the heart to remove Abondance yet... I skiied there almost 20 years ago now and there was, indeed, an abundance of snow on that occasion...
Maybe we should add little tombstones for the resorts that fall victim to global warming and economic factors? :(
