Abondance

A quiet village beneath Mount Cauffé with 10 lifts locally, but not lift-linked to the Portes du Soleil (to which the above skiing statistics relate), and it is on the pass. However it's an easy car-drive to the main lifts at Chatel. Abondance is an authentic mountain village with a 12th century abbey and cloister.

In addition to the skiing in Abondance itself (15 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Portes du Soleil ski resorts of Avoriaz, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, La Grande Terche, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine, Saint Jean d'Aulps, Champoussin, Champéry, Les Crosets, Morgins and Torgon.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Abondance is Sion, 70 minutes drive away.

Geneva, Annecy, Berne, Chambery, Lyon St-Exupéry, Grenoble, Lyon Bron, Basel and Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airports are all within three hours drive.
