Those of you flying into Turin, be prepared for arrival morning on Sundays.
About 8 UK flights land within an hour of each other, and its chaos finding your bags and skis. The tell you which carousel they will be coming out of, and then end up coming out of a different one, and the Crystal rep in particular got very arsey with people waiting for luggage, telling them to leave it, fill in a lost property form, and get on the bus to resort! Needless to say, not many people took her advice.

Skis are supposed to come out of carousel 0 or 7, but you need to keep moving between the 2 to check, as the Italians seem to do what they want when they want.

Luggage can also appear anywhere. My mate was stood at carousel 3 waiting for bags from the Manc flight, I was at 0 waiting for skis. My luggage went past me on carousel 1, so I grabbed it, and got the skis from carousel 7 because someone tipped me off there were loods of bags thrown on the floor with nothing coming through 0!
Meanwhile my mate is still stood at 3 watching all the Gatwick bags go past him time and time again!

Its funny looking back, but having not slept for 48 hours, it wasnt at the time.

Coming back is totally different. Effeciency personified with the check in and departures. Just be prepared for some fun and games when you arrive from the UK.

Had a laugh about this - we had the opposite difficulties. The baggage retrieval was excellent, everything where they said it would be and quickly - however coming home was a disaster. Nobody could tell which queue belonged to which check in desk, service was very slow and we only just managed to check in and clear security before we needed to board our flight. Having said all that the holiday was worth it and we will face the chaos again.

Flew to Turin on 25th March from Manchester.

We had no problems with luggage or anything. Both outward and inward checking in was fast and efficient. Luggage was fine - on correct carousel for cases and skiis. No confusion at all.

Reps (Crystal Ski) were all brilliant - friendly, helpful & polite.

So I guess we were very lucky.

How strange, its like these 2 people had the direct opposite to me: fine incoming but disastrous leaving!

Mind you, there were a lot of dozy Brits standing around on departure from Turin not able to work out which check in to use. It really isnt difficult, but you might need to scout around a little bit.

Mind you, you can put up with it for a fabulous weeks skiing on the Vialattea. Cant wait to go back in Feb 2008.
