There's a bus service from Cluses. We used it to get to Les Carroz. Cheaper than a taxi but I'm not sure how regular or frequently it runs.

Some of these are just wrong ...
La Tania should be 30 mins from MOUTIER not 45 mins from Bourg St Maurice.
Courchevel should be 30 mins from Moutier not 60 mins.
La Plagne should be 20 mins not 40 mins.
Les Arcs should be 20 mins. from Bourg.
Les Menuires should be 30 mins.from Moutier
Valmorel should be 30 mins from Moutier not 40 mins.
Val Thoren should be max 40 mins from Moutier not 75 mins.

I am not saying all the others are right ... I don't know. But the ones I have listed are definitely wrong.

... but sadly as usual, no mention of the good old Maurienne resorts (my home), despite 6 years now since Peter Hardy in the Telegraph revealed its "Outstanding skiing ... prices almost half their famous neighbours at resorts like Orelle and St Francois-Longchamp which few British skiers have even heard of".

He might also have mentioned the Orelle skiing from the Maurienne (train 9 mns) is actually part of Val Thorens + 3V; so accommodation half-price, but not your lift-pass! And that St Francois (train 20 mns) is combined with Valmorel, and 8½ or 10 hours total from S-E England (or road transfer from Chambery airport only 1½ hrs).

So - taxi drive times to resort from train (TGV on ski weekends, UK 8½ hrs; or daily TGV to Chambery + inter-city, 10 hrs)

Notes 'Pass' is 1-day adult high season; insurance 2.80€, wave-it card deposit may be 2€
All resorts offer usual discounts for families, age, longer periods, and...
* = discount/s for restricted area; and most offer reductions for part-day / weekends / on-line booking / off-season / etc.
Piste lengths (from Wiki) now seem to be per the FIANET/Schrahe criteria (e.g. 3V now 600 Km, not 650)

Taxi from station of St Avre - La Chambre to:

Resort Train Top-bottom Pistes Pass

(nearest resort to trains in 'Les Sybelles' domain below),

... and seems no-one's noticed the best train-served skiing in France (or the Alps, if you leave out Zermatt), by the hourly service from St Gervais (Paris 5 hrs) to the centres of Chamonix - Les Houches - Argentiere (so maybe no taxi at all!), and several of the main mountain trains / cablecars inc. the Aiguille du Midi/Vallee Blanche. And most of the line's on the free Chamonix Transport pass if you're in a hotel.
Timetables and more, on... http://www.chamonix.net/english/transport/train .
Blog me if you'd like more on trains-to-ski, a lifetime enthusiasm.
