I now have flights to Innsbruck for a week from March 6(the return flight cost just £15 with a few air miles!) but no resort booked yet.
I'm tempted by the Alpbachtal now there are lift links between Alpbach and Auffach. But I'm a touch worried about the snow quality at that time of the season so also looking at Pitztal or Stubaital.
Can anyone offer any advice/tips etc on these two areas? Many thanks.

One of my favored areas in Tirol is Innsbruck. Where will you take base in the city or Neustift im Stubaital ?
The glacier at the end of the Stubai Valley will have plenty of snow and all types of terrain from flat and wide to steep / demanding.
Schlick 2000 above Fulpmes is facing North its a smaller area but very local , lots of happenings there and snow sure.
Axamer Lizum and the Olympia run is a must.

Thought to do Pitztal but need to research. I was planning to stay in Innsbruck only because I am arriving by train from Munich and will not have transport. Not sure Pitztal has bus access? Looked at Fulpmes and Axamar.....just worried about having snow and the difficulty level...advanced boarder here and with horrible snow conditions throughout the US this year not too confident.

Can't help you with Pitztal, not been there, check this link:

Check the weather conditions nearer to your time, this would be low season here in Europe and you wouldn't have any difficulties finding accomodation.
Axamer Lizum and Schlick 2000 are day trips from Innsbruck.

Schlick 2000 is the name of the ski area, the village is Fulpmes near Neustift, the bus is free of charge for travel within the valley for resident guests. Stay in Neustift !
