Thanks all
I can't make the bus/train thing work really with timing so I'm going to have to have a car, I just take it for granted there'll be bus or train here so it's annoying, no wonder people don't use public transport really.
Travelodge would have been perfect but they seem to be full on Saturday night anywhere nearby so maybe something's going on locally.

That makes sense. I only needed one night near the airport on the way back from Aviemore so I booked the Premier Inn, probably as well I didn't leave it any longer to do either.

Hmmm, not sure whats on. I am flying up to Edinburgh on Tuesday just for a couple of meetings for the day, and wasnt aware of any events around this time.
For car rental, you might want to take a look at CarHire 3000 - they dont make charges for paying by credit card online and are usually the cheapest rates too.

I just realised that Scotland are playing the All Blacks on the weekend which might explain the busy hotels.

That's it Hirsty, usually a great pub atmosphere in Edinburgh. Went with No 2 son to watch when Jono Lomu played. My son wore the Scots shirt, I wore the silver fern on black.
That's fair enough, whenever we watch an England international together on the tele, he has always managed somehow to obtain the opposition's shirt.
