I have been skiing for three years, and have my own boots. Recently I have been getting vey painful and numb feet while skiing and it is ruiing my day.
I have tried loosening my boots accross top of foot, but the problem persisits? Any ideas?/

Is it only ski boots you get this with? I have noticed the same with new trainers. My feet go like pins and needles when I first start wearing new trainers! I dont have the best feet in the world like! I just live with it. Not suer if it will be the same with ski boots. will let you know!

Were your boots properly fitted? Who did them? Just because you had them professionally fitted does not mean they did it correctly. Some times I get numbness in the arches of my feet and calf stretches sorts it out..

Remember you are going from spending 51 weeks of the year in shoes that aren't very supportive to some of the most supportive/best customised footwear you own... you can expect some discomfort.

Hi, I too suffer from agony in my feet after just a short time on the slopes. There is a J2Skier called cem who has been so very helpful to me. I am getting boots professionally made and fitted this year on his diagnosis and recommendations. Check out his website www.solutions4feet.com. I will be posting reports from Niederau and Kitzbuhel in a couple of weeks so will let everyone know how I go with my new boots from Daleboot in Kitzbuhel!!!
mum works too hard to pay for the ski trips!

where is the pain??? there are a few biomechanical things that are probably going on to cause most pains.... ski boots only serve to exagerate these problems especially if they do not match your foot shape closely

my money is on pain under the ball of the foot and down the outside edge of the foot, caused by either a badly fitting boot or a lack for flexion at the ankle joint due to either tight calf muscles or a boney blockade at the ankle.... the solutions are fairly simple if you can get to a boot fitter who understands ankle joint range of motion..... you will be supprised how many don't

I get really bad pain in my toes, especially by big toe and along my in-step. I don't know if this is a problem with my boots or my skiing style - I tend to leanforward and inward, if you get what I mean.
Last night I shot an elephant in my pyjamas. How he got in my pyjamas i'll never know.

I had 2 - 3 years of pain from boots, was reconmended to go to solutions4feet and have not regreted it, it was quite a distance for me to travel from NE but worth the journey, my feet may never be 100% pain free as i have anything but normal hoofs, but i can now ski for 4 - 5 hours without tears in my eyes, before i had boots fitted correctly 1 hour max.

Try foot beds like super feet. £35 to see if they make a difference before you go spending serious money
