I just paid £80 for custom insoles. They feel much better - will report back after I am on the white stuff in a few weeks ;)

The Superfeet insoles are much better than the insoles that come with the boots, but they're nowhere near as good as a properly made custom foot bed.

Really you just need to have them fitted in resort by experienced boot fitter. Is a bit boring, takes 1.5-2hrs, but normally they will give you a beer whilst you wait. Let them chose then most appropriate boot for your foot vs you choosing something you like the color of or read about.

Other key point is to keep working on flexibility. Simple exercises, like standing on tip toes (bare feet), arms at side-move up and meet in middle above head x 8, 8 rotations forwards and 8 backwards all on tip toes. Will help you to engage your core and will give ankle and calf a nice stretch. If your boots fitted before and don't not then flexibility is likely the cause for "new pain".

Not everyone needs custom insoles. And it's a better way of trying because the retailer will give you your money back if they don't make any difference.

Agree Tony.

Mine were professionally fitted as I have strange shaped feet. The process is long. I would not say it has to be done in resort at all, there are some great boot fitters in the UK

If people do go for superfeet footbeds, don't assume you just get them in your size. Some times you may need to go up a size or two to get the best fitting arch support. You then cut them down to fit your ski boots.
because I'm so inclined .....
