we went to Megeve last April and there was no snow at all and had to drive to Chamonix...which was good as the upper slopes were great.... but with the warm spring sun melting fast.
Lovely time to ski with small kids as its warmer,,,,you just need loads of suncream and sunglasses/goggles for every child to protect their eyes as the sunshine and the snow can be very very bright at high altitude.

Les Arcs is about two hours drive from Geneva. Are you sure that Altibus doesn't go there? 500 euros is a price for a private transfers, but here should be group or even scheduled transfers available. Alternatively, you can rent a car.

If you live near London or Ashford it's very easy to get to Les Arcs because the station Bourg St Maurice is practically IN Les Arcs (you just have to go up the funicular to get to Les Arcs). During the ski season Eurostar run a direct ski train from St Pancras and Ashford to Bourg St Maurice which takes around 7 hours, or you can change in Paris.
