I have just looked at the lift pass prices for Chamonix :( & there are 2, one is whole area & the other which I think would be most suitable for my family. We have 2 young boys 9 & 13 as beginners 1 at 15 & my daughter as intermediates, myself & her husband as advanced.I know nothing of the areas & 4 of them will be going to ski school for part of the day, so those of you that know the Chamonix area could you please give me some advice.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks insiders, the unlimited is €282 adult & €239.70 for children & seniors.
The other one is €230 for adults & €195.50 for children & seniors, Is it worth the extra? especially for the beginner children who will be in lessons as well as the intermediates?
The cost for them would be €1283.10 for the unlimited
The other would be €1046.50 :( a saving of €191.60.
Thanks again for your answers, there is a section that says " family 2 adults + 1 child €803.70 " on the lower priced pass.I thought this a bit strange as if you add 2 adults & 1 child it would total this amount so in effect all they did was the maths.
Perhaps its as you say the other children don't pay, but I didn't notice that being stated anywhere, with that in mind another check will be required.

Get the Mont Blanc Unlimited... it includes going up the aigulle du midi, which costs a packet on it's own, so if you wanted to take the kids up there it's included.

When we went to that area you paid for one child only up to 15 on Cham pass and for Les Houches it was up to age 18. - additional children were free.
Saved us a fortune.
Looks like you've done your homework though so assume no longer offering this?

Yep, definitely kids free.
We took 3 teens and paid for one child pass and two adults.
I din't really belive it til we bought them.
And......if some are beginners them the Cham pass will be fine for a week - in my opinion of course!

Did you book lessons for anyone (are you planning on skiing as a family) what time of year are you going?
For such a mixed group I would.
1) Trust Children with the Chamonix bus system (sounds like anyway they will be in pairs and figure it out). Most ski schools will also do the transport if booked for full day. French ones will only work in areas covered by normal lift pass. If using a British school they may use Les Houches as lets people get on mountain straight away.
2) Certainly the advanced skiers should get the Unlimited as gives access to the Midi (you should definitely book a VB) and top bin of Grand Montets.
3) If weather is bad unlimited will allow you to access Les Houches, which is nice resort.
