I did the winter/summer thing when I was much younger, I spent two years living in Chamonix which included the summers (shocking that my French is so rubbish), and then I did winters in the alps follwed by summers in the med on yachts working my @rse off and saving money to travel.
As much fun as that was, I was living out of several suitcases that were at my parents house and I'd just pop home and change over at the end of the seasons, if I were to do it again it would be permenant, so I need to improve my French and decided what I could do out there. SB can you speak French? That's one of my concerns, even though I worked several seasons my French is shocking.
Mr Nelly is as keen as me to make the move but my concern would be the summers, I know they survive but the work would be minimal. His kids are still at school so it's not an option at the moment but I'm seriously considering a few options and also doing a French course so we can make the move in a few years. Interesting thread though, makes me want to do it more :) |

I don't listen to music when skiing, I love to hear what's going on around me. But if I did it would probably be something like the Foos or Queens of the Stoneage.
