With all due respect Snapzzz, I get offers along those lines about twice a month posted through my letterbox.

I get really annoyed that they cannot even be bothered to check who already has their service before offering blanket deals which current subscribers cannot take advantage of.

Whilst not exactly the same, I have in front of me at the moment a "deal" offering over 175 channels plus catch up tv and hd, 30mb broadband plus the phone service for £44.50 with the first 3 months free. That is on a blank through the door flyer.

Then I get an addressed to me letter, telling me my bill is going to "have" to increase by £3.50 a month to just short of £80. Guess why I am not happy!
:(

I already have all three services and I'm paying the full whack!

Deals like this, just pee off existing customers, it's enough to make me look at switching to the dreaded competition.

Thanks for the input Tony.

The route you suggested looks like it would take even longer than the Munich delay (plus additional costs such as Swiss Vignette and possible French Tolls), however it did lead me to look at going via Innsbruck, then cutting up to join the A8 at Ulm. According to Michelin, that route is only 40 minutes longer than via Munich, so assuming no traffic issues, would have been almost two hours faster coming home. Something for me to bear in mind for the future.

FYI, we prefer not to fly for various reasons. Will usually only fly if the drive is not possible. This year, we left the hotel 1 1/2 hours after a friend departed on the airport coach. He arrived home at 9pm, we got back just after midnight. Would have been very close without the delay, so I still think driving is a good option.

Next Saturday I will dislike the traffic on the A8 south of Munich as all of Germany and Holland head off for the Fasching ski holiday.
I will also dislike that I am not organised enough to get the family on the road early enough to get through before the traffic build up. Thus missing an afternoon on the slopes.

Apologies, slightly off topic, but it is a hate.

I drove back to the UK from Kitzbuhel this weekend, and the traffic to and round Munich was appaling. It took us 3 hours to do about 50 miles! We left Kitz about 9.30am. Is this just the usual traffic situation for the area, and the solution is to leave earlier? Is there an alternate route which would be quicker?

Thanks.

A couple of lifts in Kitz had them on all eight seats. They were a right pain, especially if you forgot about them before the bar dropped and you still had your poles between your legs

The worst thing is that people at work just don't understand

They all think I have a problem because I don't go on summer holidays to somewhere warm. They don't realise that it is they who have the problem and miss out on the greatest thing they could ever do by going to somewhere high, cold and snowy.

My boss gets suspicious when I talk about my addiction to powder

They just don't understand.

The Indian and the Sri Lankan I work with just want to watch cricket, and they think all the pictures I have in my office section represent hell on earth. They need to be educated!

 He needs to be really careful of the latest thing I have seen on lifts. They are now adding drop down child guards on the bars, but as I found to my horror, they also act as blood flow stoppers to people with decent sized thighs :!:

Hello Jon and Helen, my name is Tony and I too am an addict

I have just unpacked, and when it is washed, I will pack it again, just in case something turns up as a real last minute thing. I don't want there to be any reason why I cannot get another fix this season. Skis are already polished and waxed, all I need to do is zip up the ski bag. Boots are staying dry and supple in my airing cupboard, boot bag nearby. Poles have been sharpened for anyone who gets in the way
