Don't know how accurate this is, but the linked site has a toll calculator.
http://www.autoroutes.fr/en/preparatives/routes.html It seems to be routing you straight through Paris, and as such is quoting only 66.10 EUR which seems too little from memory. You may need to tweek to route to get a better price. Hope that helps. Edit... Well, it must be pretty close, the Via Michelin site reckons on 73.00 EUR Clicki Ici :) |

I think Swiss Air are still carrying Skis for free, if that helps.
There is not usually too much hassle taking your own. As long as you can get the Skis (properly packed of course) to the airport easily, then they are usually just booked in at check-in and often left in a special drop zone. Then you simply collect them on arrival at the destination airport and load them up on your transfer vehicle. They will be expecting people to bring their own Skis, so will have suitable areas for the the transfer. |

You could adapt a suitably sized lockable topbox so that you can run a chain through it and secure it round a post or such. Then give all your party keys for the box so they can store the Skis on return.
That shouldn't look too bad, just not sure just how secure it may be, I guess you would need to buy a very well built topbox. |

I'm currently mixing between Clive Cussler's Arctic Drift, and a heap of Ski brochures :)
