Of course, looking to the future, J2SkyNet will employ a network of satellites to remotely sense snow-depths from space. To give ourselves more ski time, we're thinking that J2SkyNet will be most effective if it can operate without human intervention - "self-aware" if you like... what could possibly go wrong?

Hmm, I'm guessing that is a few years off. In the meantime, how about the possibility of hiring people like Snapzzz, Iceman and myself (plus any others who may be available) to spend the winters going round different resorts with an accurate measuring pole and reporting back to you with the correct depths?
Who wears a helmet?

:D

I can now finally report that my entire group of 9 skiing buddies are ALL wearing lids.

We had just two die-hards left at the start of this holiday, but a combination of very cold weather, and being in a gondola with 50 odd people, where they were the only ones not wearing helmets finally pushed them over the hill.

I was quite surprised myself, I would estimate that over 95% of people on the mountains in Kitzbuhel were wearing lids.

Well, got back form Kitzbuhel on Sunday, and I am absolutely knackered :!:

Had a really good time, and enjoyed my new Nomads so much, which is probably why I am so tired. Weather was pretty good, apart from the temperature. We had a mix of blue skies and days with a dusting of snow, but it did drop to minus 30, which combined with a bit of wind at the top did make for some chilly lifts!

Will sort out a proper report this week, and once I get the pics downloaded (not that I took many) will post those too.

Not sure how many sleeps left to my next trip, but I really do want to get away again this season.

 Not when it's minus 26 like last week in Kitzbuhel! Will post a picture soon, to demonstrate how cold it got.

LOL, it's just the lens on the camera, it makes the skis look long and straight.

PS I am well happy with them, they performed brilliantly. I just loved the way they powered through crud, and the push they gave when linking high speed turns down a long piste. My general speed went up so much this week, I had to give up wearing my sunglasses and switch to goggles all the time. I need to look out for a new pair of glasses which will give me wind protection at speed.
It's been that cold this year, I wish I had cultivated my goatee into a full face fuzz. I was picking ice out of it on most runs

 Your Nomads look straighter than mine!

 Great vid Snapzzz, I am sitting here yawning my head off having just got back this weekend, and getting very little sleep before work today, and this vid has made me sit up awake and start thinking about where to go next

Right, I'm off for a 4 hour nap, then depart time.

Will try to find a wifi spot to post an update while away, but if not may have to be my trusty mobile.

Safe journey to anyone else travelling this weekend, either way.
