I would wholeheartedly agree with you there, the only spanner in the works is the dang cost of getting there :(

We had intended doing a 10 day trip to Whistler just after the Olympics, but the prices have made us stick to Europe for all our trips this season.
Anyone come across any deals?

Another Banff one on the 12th Dec for £299 or 16th Dec for £329

 Hmm, may even see if I can get a week off myself for that :-)

Slightly off topic, but I am being serious here.

Last time we went to the States, my brother took almost no clothing at all, just the essentials. He spent the first day shopping, as he claims it was all cheaper over there anyway, and at the end of the two week trip, he boxed all his dirty clothing up and posted it back to himself at home

He claims he will do the same next time we go as well. The point being he always has room for his boots in his case :!:

Meantime for Europe we either drive or get the train.

Just found out the reason why I don't travel to Europe by Train £676 return to Annecy

 :(

Wow.. Rail Europe quotes the Calais to Annecy return fare as just £91.00 or £129.00 return on the least flexible options out of St Pancras.

I find it works best with a Spanish accent (think Manuel from Fawlty Towers)

Edit - Of course if Mr Admin is reading this, then it does refer to the fact that the furthest lift queue is usually the shortest and hence the one to join

Far Queue too, man )

Ohh Groan..

OK, I get it now.

I had visions of an event involving hordes of voluptuous chalet girls. Of course that part may still be correct if they fail to scrub properly

jonah690, many thanks for taking the time to write all that out, I really appreciate it. Yes we are on half board, but only because certain deals made it easier for us to package rather than do it all ourselves as usual. However, that will not prevent us from using the town restaurants most of the time, as we prefer to try various options rather than be stuck in a single place.

Are non skiers allowed up the gondola, and if so can they have lunch at the top? Failing that I am also assuming they will be able to travel to the other local towns (ie El Tartar) where we can meet them for a bit of variety.

Marco's vid bar by any chance ???

Normally if you get a group like that Livigno is a big enough town to hide them.

No, it was the Cow related bar where you have to get a lift down to the toilets, which you may well know  (no, I don't mean the toilets before you ask)
