My friends rang last night from a very snowy M20 and reported the Chunnel was closed - again
On the weather this morning they just reported ice. We fly tomorrow from Birmingham with I dare not mention the name on here  Weather in France looking warmer with a mixture of light snow and sun :D Hope your journeys are trouble free and your queues not too horrendous but most of all have a great time  PS I will try to load up some trips from my I-Gotu for those missing LesMens posts  PSC, family and friends |

As often is the case I have to confer with Bandit on this one. I love Le Tour in the sun the views over the Chamonix Valley are superb. With the snow being good you can ski back down to the car park which is not possible from Flegere. Get there early if you can to get parked up nearer the gondala.
Saying that I have never managed to get to Courmayeur - I felt the travelling would waste too much precious ski time  |

Matty I am assuming you mean the Orelle access to VT is close. You can get an extension on your VF pass from the ticket station at Orelle and there is a bus provided on Wednesdays for 7.50 E's. If going over I would advise you to check the weather forcasts as the link up can be closed in high winds and the drive back would be 160 km!! Also if going with nervous intermediates take the Cime Caron Cable Car down as you only have a Red (with a steep road section at the top) or a Black down into VT. The skiing is great once down with lots of cruisy blues but there are challenging reds and blacks too of you wish. You could feasibly go across to Meribel and back if you get up early enough but would need a 3V Pass. I love the Mauriennaise red down to Orelle which is long and steep in places but the views over the southern alps are fantastic. Enjoy Valfrejus - it looks a lovely village. |

Is it Bookable Ski??
Thank goodness someone has corrected the spelling in the thread title - is it just me that hates poor spelling and the use of text speak  Sorry to wibble  |

For 2 nights I would choose PSD - nearer to the airport, more nightlife and skiing. Have stopped in St Jean d'Arves and it was really just ok. Les Gets never stayed there as we were in Chatel but even at Easter we managed to get high up to find decent snow. Maybe consider higher up than Les Gets or Morzine where there are good links up to the higher altitudes.

Learn your girlfriends name - it helps in lots of other situations other than booking holidays....
