had a pair of lange boots until recently, couldn't fault them, only changed because they were getting on a bit, as for Dynastar, I have a pair of twin tips and they are also good news, but my recommendation would be to try a few different makes / styles and choose what your wife feels most comfortable with. As opposed to buying Lange / Dynastar because of the brand.

I stopped in Schwendau last year, and it was too quiet, just the hotel bar to go to, so I can only imagine that you like to be tucked in bed at 9 or playing scrabble in the lounge......;-)

maybe I'm just getting old then

oh and it's drafts, not scrabble :D

diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks
yum

just had a quick look on viamichelin.co.uk, they reckon just under 5 and a half hours to travel the 470kms from Venice to Hintertux, and as Tony_H says, a cracking drive. Have a good one!!

if you're not sure then best bet would be to hire. The other option would be to look on ebay as already suggested, I hadn't been skiing for a long period and took the wife who had never ski-ied, not sure if she was going to take to it for our first trip we raided ebay. Good suggestion about the gloves though, do NOT skimp on gloves or socks for that matter, everything else you can layer up on but too many socks makes for uncomfortable skiing!!!

What to wear in the evening

the key is layers, jeans are fine but probably not the warmest. I always find that the bars and restaurants are so hot that you end up peeling of a few layers, as you can see from this picture this apres-ski malarkey can be quite hot!!

I'm sure Mel won't mind seeing this!!

As someone else said on this thread earlier unless you go to one of the glitzy resorts then fashion seems to go out of the window a little bit during the evening.
