Hi T1b.
This is our 4th time back to the 3v in 2016. We love it there, the variety from off piste to slopes of different class is difficult to beat. In the time we have spent there we still haven't covered everywhere. We usually stay in Mottaret, and Andy is right in the nightlife is restricted, but down the road is Meribel with lots of places, and there is a free bus that runs through the evening back up the hill. Courchevel is a lovely ski resort, and all of the areas have different things to offer. The biggest (1850) can have outrageous prices and for this reason I would avoid it too. I would much prefer to stay where I do in the 'middle valley' as it makes journeys less of a hassle, especially as the day draws to a close and lifts home are needed. Regardless of the downside of Courchevel, the whole area is excellent and wherever you choose you will have a great time. Steve. |

Not sure about that one. Both times we were there more people were coming from St Anton rather than going to. I'm guessing by this that you are preferring to be in St Anton? If so then why not have a look over there, I am positive there are lots of good size chalets that can cater for you. Lech has a huge amount of runs, and some wonderful speedy cruisers in Zurs. Now that the link to Warth has been created there is even more still.
This is no put down of St Anton of course, we enjoyed it thoroughly over there. |

Hi and no problem. The place is in a good location as there is a small lift about 100 yards skiing away. Take this up and you can easily ski down into Lech (blue run 34). A bus is every 20 mins which is a 10 minute journey if you prefer.
Getting to St Anton is by coach and again it's from Lech centre. You can ski all day and get a coach back in the evening which is what we did when we went over. The chalet is clean and a decent size, all are en suite apart from the top floor which shares a bathroom and toilet. We really enjoyed it here, the only minus point is the evening sitting area is quite formal with bench style seats rather than something comfy you can sink into. There is plenty of space for skis and boots in the drying room. It's a good base and if we didn't enjoy it we wouldn't have been back. Hope this helps, and good luck with your choice. Let me know if you need anything else. Steve. |

Hi, I have stayed here in 2014 and 2015. It is in Zug, a small but pretty hamlet not far from Lech centre. Before I start waffling on, is there anything in particular that you like to know or is it just a general overview?

Pandaski....I got mine from Ellis Brigham. Hope that helped.

I use Zardoz from Ellis Brigham or Snow & Rock. It's liquid Teflon and makes the skis supper slippy when applied. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I must confess I love the 3 valleys, but the over priced and over hyped area of 1850 is best avoided. That doesn't stop the skiing being great of course. I do think she has a point about tripadvisor, where people are quick to type criticism rather than a compliment. Saying that, when I saw 131 Euros for bangers and mash at a restaurant (Le Chalet Des Pierres) it's obvious who their market is.

I read an article that skiboards are selling once again in Alpine countries. Perhaps this could be looked into?
Not for me though, It just looks too restrictive!!! |
