And that's the beauty of this site, we all have differing opinions! I'm in Morzine next week and am very much looking forward to finding a good atmosphere in a bar with decent beer.....any suggestions would be welcome.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that wasn't a fan though!
Hi all

Just back from another fabulous week in the 3V, great company, snow, apres etc.....

My only bug bear was our visit to La Folie Douce (my second visit after VDI). I try but just cannot enjoy it! I find it over pretentious and more akin to a club 18-30's bad party. Heading down into Meribel and going to Ronnies or Jacks which have great beer, live music and are far more personal and friendly, I was wondering if it's me getting old or do I have a point?

If it is just me then I can live with that!

Cheers!

And it's exactly the same here, I was on the phone yesterday to a pal and we were talking about runs we will do, whilst we both had piste maps in front of us. No doubt we will be doing it at the airport and then on the plane, but the inner child comes out very easily as the time to go approaches.

I hope everyone has an excellent and injury free time away.
I would put money on a fair few resorts banning them completely after this. He's very lucky.
Injuries on snow

The poor lad who died in Meribel today had a helmet on, it appears to be down to the hardness of the piste through lack of snow (Not my words or opinion, it's on the Telegraphs website). A real tragedy regardless of reason.
Aldi’s Annual Ski Kit Sale This Week

I know it's a bit more expensive (and I'm not saying anything will be wrong with the Aldi helmet) but Costco are selling excellent quality Bolle helmets for £42.

Cheers, and happy skiing.
The show in Manchester was particularly disappointing this year, quite a few stalls had gone from the year before and I was pretty much done in an hour or so. I'm still a bit amazed at how many big resorts (3 valleys, Chamonix, Lech as examples) don't turn up, it just strikes me as worth a punt in todays economy.
Saying that, no doubt I will go next year as I start getting giddy for the upcoming season....

I didn't think run 33 was that bad. At the end of the day it does get a bit 'crusty', but it's by no means dangerous and if a nervous intermediate has a go then taking it easy will get them home in 1 piece. Alternatively you could always go into Lech and try a couple of the excellent bars!!!! You can even see the number 2 bus approaching from the bars.
