Thanks Ally. Its all singles so im hoping they should all be ok. I have probably skied the three valleys more than anywhere else as my friend had an apartmnt there untill a year ago and we usually had a couple of weeks each year but upon looking at a piste map the other day i suddenly realised that although i know instinctively where i am going i have never paid much attention to the names of lifts and runs etc because i relied on my friend.:)Im more concerned with the time it takes to get up to the resort by lift from Brides and the lack of nightlife but im sure it will be a blast and looking forward to it. |

No not a season Ian just 2 or 3 weeks Teaching Half Term and Easter. This is the first time I have done the HOSTING(dont want to get the name wrong again lol) so a bit nervous not sure how ill handle moaning winging clients. :) Still its mainly 25 to 35 yr olds so im hoping they will be there for a good time and have low expectations. :) |

Sounds like Soldeu in Andorra ticks all your boxes (just about fits the transfer) I personnaly love France however Nightlife leaves a lot to be desired even in bigger resorts.
Passo Tonnale in Italy might be worth a look as a first time. Nr Airports and good nightlife with good beginners slopes and progression. But for me its got to be Soldeu for beginners. |

Try Snowcoach they either do short breaks or you can book their catered hotels by the night. St Gervais nr to Geneva.

Hi Welcome to J2ski there is no better or worse as the two are completely different experiences. (Other than the joy of fresh air and being in the mountains. Both will argue their corner.
For beginers I think its best to look at the differances. The Learning curve is completly different (although with modern skies its getting closer.) With skiing you will be able to move about straight away and should improve to a standard that you can get around the mountain a little bit on easy runs within a few days however once you have the basics and move into what would be termed intermidiate you may find the progression slows down and in some instances you can plateu off. Boarding is completely the opposite you spend the first three days sitting on you backside and falling over getting covered in bruises however once the basics are mastered many people go on to improve to a reasonable standard quite quickly. From a personal perspective I never really took to Boarding mainly because i was already a pretty good skier and want to use all available time out on exploring the mountain and im also a coward and I have seen too many boarding related injuries. It might be worth trying both and seeing which one you prefer. I await the responses contradicting all this. :) |
