Ski gloves

I think Gloves are one of the most important items.
Espesially if like me you suffer with cold fingers.

When i need them i used to wait untill the end of the season as its usually the expensive ones that are left.
Luckily now i can get them dirt cheap through the deals we get with Basi.

Reusch are great but my personal favs are scott.
Leather palms, strong constuction and one of those really usefull screen wipes for the goggles.

I also carry spring gloves from tchibo (bloody excellent and a fiver) and a pair of Phonix Mitts for when its really cold and no one is looking. lol
Its always good to have a spare pair coz someone in your group is always missing or lossing them. same for sunglasses.
Advise please!

My advice would be buy skis instead. lol
Soldeu on the whole has a good snow record its just had a bad couple of years for some reason.

However this year is looking really good so far they have great snow already and are due to open tom.
Check out the web cams.

Most of the main French resorts still have not got any snow and are supposed to be opening in the next few weeks.
I have been lucky enough to ski all over the world and I rate it as the best Beginers resort anywhere and the ski school is second to none nearly all Basi and Canadian Ski instructors.
Sport is a great Hotel and almost any of the 4 or 5 main hotels in the main village are good.
Im hopefully their Christmas week with the Girlfriend and its her first time.
Have fun you wont regret it.

May be going with the girlfriend its her first time but going to wait untill last min and look at prices and conditions.
Hi All,
Go for it Andrea I spent 3 months in Soldeau on a Gap year qualifying to be an instructor and it was the best 3 months of my life and in some ways the worst as nothing has been the same since lol.
I was 31 at the time as well great age to do it.

As far as the apartments you have booked they are fantastic large clean 2 bathrooms in each apartment and the perfect location. Kath and Gibby will make sure you have a great time.
Brussels is about 300 meters from your apartment but then everything in Soldeu is no more than 5 mins walk away.
As fo lift passes book in the lift station lessons at the top of the lift and ski hire is good whereever you go.
Probably less people at Pic Negre than at the hire shop in the lift station.
Who'd be a ski instructor?

I like the bit about the instructor had a moment of inattention.
If you have ever been unlucky enough to experience a French Ski Instructor you will know they very rarely pay any attention.
Stick with a Basi Instructor every time.
Good beginners resort in Europe

Soldeu already has snow and its looking like a bumper season. It has shaken off its party reputation and has gone upmarket in the last few years catering for families and couples rather than piss heads.
