And so it came to pass, the No vote prevailed, hence no change ~ yet.
Should the UK decide, by either by referendum, or by a UKIP win, to leave the EU, then I guess the EHIC would be invalid. However, the world does not stop spinning, we still buy our travel insurance, and market forces will bring the price to a level where there is not a significant difference. |

I can vouchsafe the quality of Wengen as having some really good runs. As much as we laud the Lauberhorn, the mountain itself is dwarfed by the surrounding ring of mountains, including the Jungfrau and the Eiger. The Eiger north wall is terrific. Over in Murren, the dark runs on the Shilthorn need some good edges.
But for me, the Lauberhorn itself was the run that contained some of the most challenging elements. I intend to write something about the Jungfrau area before winter, but given that you are the planning stage, give some thought as to the location of your accommodation. Try and stay in the centre. Walking into the lift/train area from the outer edges of the village is a tad slippy. The Jungfrau area is definitely worth adding to the must do list for serious skiers, but is is an area where a bit of knowledge will make ski life easier. |

Yes, this is Michael Pettifer putting out a warning. I reminded him that AFAIK, the current EHIC in Scotland would be valid until 24 March 2016, and thereafter, it depends if Scotland have joined the EU.

I don't see how it is a problem.
It is, as I said, a choice. Switzerland has made a choice on how much they wish individual workers to be paid, TOs make a choice on how they deal with the issue, and snow sporters make a choice on where they go, and how much they wish to spend. Participating in hosted sessions is an activity that a segment of the market wants to participate in. Should this be significantly important to them, they will elect to go elsewhere. It is the market that will decide. |

Volf, that is a bit insulting towards English, and young people.
There are young people of all nationalities that work in ski resorts, including Scots, Welsh and Irish. It is a choice that people make. There is a market rate, set by the amount that people are willing to pay for their winter holidays. |

Indeed,Sporthotel, you are correct, hence I unwittingly could have been fined last season!
My Alm bar friends have let me know that in order to avoid paying the vignette, you must exit the autobahn at Kiefersfelden, Germany. The fine is 120€. a 10 day vignette is 8.70€ |
