First pass £1410 flying from London.

That seems an OK budget, sm4sh. You should be able to look at a number of places.
I don't do chalets, so won't try to help there. I always try to stay either in a hotel, (which, for best price would be a late booking), but I prefer a b&b or apartment, where the proprietors mostly speak German. sm4sh, what is your local airport(s)? That is a key factor on flight value. |

Andy, behave yourself! :-)

Equally impressive, is to get to ski with blind skiers. They tend to be in Niederau about the same time, or the week later. We saw some of the high end of this in the Winter Olympics with Jade, but there are some non-competitive recreational blind skiers come to Niederau. As a trainer of Guide Dog puppies, this is of double interest to me. |

Hi Brucie, good to have you back....a voice of knowledge and reason! |

AC, if you contact Disability Snowsport, they will provide you with information and options. DS do cover your disability. I ski with the DS group each year, mainly because they appear in Niederau for two January weeks, and my January time encompasses that. The guides are mostly Basi approved with Adaptive qualifications.
They base at Hotel Sonschein, and run a minibus to the lift. The lift men are trained to assist DS skiers. The main lift is a gondola, although there are draglifts on the mountain, you can ski using the gondola and chairlift. DS are supported by Crystals, and there are many volunteers, both Crystal, and non-Crystal. DS do organise about half a dozen venues, including America. However, if you choose Niederau, we can get a few runs in! |

If there are just 4 of you, then it would make sense to delay your decision about choice of location until mid-January. By then, you will have a reasonable idea of where the good snow lies.
Munich is great for access to the Kitzbuhleralpen, either by train, or with car hire. So, you could locate in the Skiwelt, (Ellmau, Soll, Scheffau), in Kitzbuhel, or other areas along the Inn valley. In the meantime, you can do the accommodation research. Using the Skiwelt as an example, if you email the tourist board, gives your dates and room requirements, they will put this out to all the hotels and pensions in the region. The individual providers can then email you directly. So you will have done your homework, you check the January snow conditions, and also the J2ski snow history. You should be well armed for making a booking for March in mid-January. |

Well played, Icy, all coming into place!
Just booked a 9 seater mini-bus for our January trip. I too, am considering a Dolomite trip, and another week elsewhere in Tirol for early March. |
