Ischgl or St Anton, short stay accommodation?

However after paying €50 for a burger and a beer in Les Arcs last winter I have had enough.
I love Italy and really want to try Dolomites but this trip is with my group of friends who value a good night out as much as the skiing. The serious ski trip with the serious skiers is in December.
As we fly from Dublin we are very limited with flights but I have found good flight times to Zurich or Munich and as we are going the first week of March we want a fairly snow sure resort.
So far Ischgl and St Anton are looking like our best bet but I am finding it very difficult getting accommodation. So far there is 4 lads, all 40ish who will ski the whole mountain and love a few beers after skiing so the standard of accommodation is not that important as long as it's near to the slopes.
Any help from some of you that have good experience of Austria would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

We went to Solden last year and we found 1 place that would take us for 5 days and we had to arrive on a Sunday.Closer to our departure date more unsold places became available. They want you to book the week Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun.
We havent learnt from last year as weve booked Wed-Monday flights and going to Ischgl at the beginning of march.
Fingers crossed we will find some accommodation

I have been booking short stay ski breaks for years now and getting accommodation is always a challenge.
The problem with waiting until last minute is that there is probably 7 or 8 of us going so I need to organise something sooner rather than later.

Munich is great for access to the Kitzbuhleralpen, either by train, or with car hire. So, you could locate in the Skiwelt, (Ellmau, Soll, Scheffau), in Kitzbuhel, or other areas along the Inn valley.
In the meantime, you can do the accommodation research. Using the Skiwelt as an example, if you email the tourist board, gives your dates and room requirements, they will put this out to all the hotels and pensions in the region. The individual providers can then email you directly. So you will have done your homework, you check the January snow conditions, and also the J2ski snow history. You should be well armed for making a booking for March in mid-January.
