I have to ski Christmas due to my holidays!!
The resorts I have skied over the last few years are:- 2010 Bansko - This was my first ski holiday had an amazing time but very poor resort and limited skiing I skied it all in 3 days so we hired a car and drove to Borovets and that wasn't much better. 2011 Cervina - This resort was amazing loads and loads of runs and massive amounts of snow, quite a cheap resort and with access the Zermatt I qouls say this is the best of the 6 resorts I have visited due to the amount of runs, snow, fast lifts and cheapness and then put Zermatt and it is incredible only down side it's not the most challenging resort but the skiing is amazing. 2012 Tignes Really enjoyed Tignes & Val loads of runs massive amounts of snow and some great challenging runs, the runs aren't as fluid as Cervina you couldn't ski from the very top of the mountain to the very bottom with out going back up lifts to drop you over to the other side of the valley lift system not as efficient as cervina and definitely more expensive. Shameless Plug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This year I will be working the ski season in La Plange come stay with us if you like! http://www.silverski.co.uk/chalet-chanousia/ Amazing little chalet in the woods just off the run into town. Hope some of this helps |

Was wondering if any members have skied in New Zealand?
We are spending a month of our honeymoon traveling around new Zealand in September and was wondering which resorts to explore. |

Pole Plant, that's good to know about Courcheval and Meribel, we are traveling for 3 months before doing the ski season so we won't have much money in the bank when we get out to resort and I believe you have to wait a month to get paid!!

I will be happy were ever we end up just if we get the choice I don't want to make the wrong one!!
Things seem to be looking good for this year, Honeymoon is all sorted 1 months travel around each New Zealand, Malaysia and Indonesia then return for the ski season. Had news today that we have an interview for crystal ski as well and to top this great week off it's snowing for fun in New Zealand, only 18 weeks and we will be on the slopes at Treble cone |

Just a quick question really!!
Has anybody stayed with Silverski? Me and the wife to be are due to have an interview with them on Sunday by skype and just trying to get as much back ground on them as possible. Out for the resorts they have chalets (Churchevel, Meribel, La Plagne, La Tania) which do you think would be best for doing a season?? we want to be able to ski from the start of the season to the end in the best possible conditions with as much terrain as possible. we haven't skied any of the resorts, we did visit La Plange in the summer so don't know what to expect of any of the resorts. We know this is going to be the hardest things we have ever done but as long as I have great skiing we don't care how hard we have to work. Thanks for any help given!! Matt & Amy |

I really can not see what the issue is with Hosting!!
The only thing I can say is I believe there should be a law regarding the size of any one group. In Cervinia last year me and my fiancee joined the crystal host and the group was just fare to large (20) and my girlfrind actually had and accident she says due to the fact there was so many in the group but I am not to sure about that to be fare. This year we visited Tignes and stayed with Bonjour Bonjour and was invited to join the hosting, my fiancee declianed and the host sat with us and gave us advise about the best runs. We did actually join the group on our last day and really enjoyed it, there was only 5 of us in total and we had some of the best skiing of our holiday and really glad we joined the group. There was also a retired lady on her own who had skied for over 50 years, when we spoke with her she said she would never ski alone due to the danger so what would this lady of done without use of the hoting? I just find the French strange, like the law about being able to stop a Chalet using there Hot tube if they like?? |
