How to know if your boots fit properly
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 36 Replies
When I first bought my boots I thought they were just right a little tight but not to tight and no real pain after an hour and a half of Skiing on the indoor slope, the next time I went whcih was last weekend for about 2 half hours the balls of my right foot ached a little but when I took my boots off I got pins and needles in the balls of my feet for a couple of minutes

Going to go back to the shop as soon as I can but not sure if I had the boot fastened to tight??

other than the slight pain they are amazing but need to be right as I spend all day skiing apart a 30 or so minute break for dinner, not into sitting around while ever I can ski the drinking and siting can be done after dark falls
Ski boots first-time purchase

My advice is don't do what my girlfriend did and buy a pair of boots that felt like slippers when she first put them on, she found they were fare to lose and she had no control.

I would say a pair of Ski boots are meant to feel like a firm hand shake.

On make and model, it all depends on your feet shape and your skiing style and ability.

I have only ever bought one pair of boots and that was a few weeks ago so I am no expert, I read a lot of forums and tried a lot of boots on before making my choice.

My experience of buying boots is a good as I had a good boo fitter my girlfriends not so as her boot fitter wasn't so good
and she bought the wrong boots but she was lucky as Ellis Brigham changed them.

Sorry if this isn't much help.

Matt

Taking care of my new ski boots!!

Having bought my first ski boots I am wondering how best to look after them??

The first time I used them I took the liner out to dry them but it was an absolute nightmare to get them back in.

Am I best getting a ski boot dryer?

Any other tips for keeping my boots in tip top condition?

Thank you for any help given

I've looked at that one in Cervinia, operated by Crystal I think, which is why I ended up not going for it after last years chalet experience with them. If they're doing the catering, I'd take some spends for eating out

The one in Sauze I know well, we used to eat in there at lunch a few years back. I've seen people taking the chair up there late in the evening with all their gear, looked like a great place to stay for the skiing.

I have never used Crystal and heard lots of mixed reviews so thought it was worth a shot.

The place in Sauze D'oulx is ranked second best place to stay in Sauze D'oulx on trip advisor and I was sold at the fact they pick you up on a Skidoo.

just glad I am all sorted but now thinking I could possibly fit another few days in for my birthday in March

Second Trip with my mates for 4 1/2 days in Sauze D'oulx staying at Hotel ciao pais which is a mountain restaurant by day so we will definitely be first on the slopes can't wait.

I am now about to start my snow prayers and constant watching of Web cams

I've just spent this evening updating our database of resort webcams and you'll see the results of that over the next few days - we now have over 2,500 for your obsessive viewing pleasure... Does that help???

where on the site are the links for the web cams??

Hi Mathew. Since there is no apostrophe either before, or behind the "s" in "girlfriends", we are left to guess. Do you hav one doe-eyed lady that simpers at your every inch ~ of snow report? Or do you retain a harem of snow loving bunnies? I think we should be told!

Austrian twins?

Now that would be a dream worth remembering

I keep having a horrible dream that there won't be any snow at Christmas in Cervinia!! I woke up 30 minutes before my alarm today because of it
