What site is that snow forecast from?

In Scottland, looks like we should of all booked to go Skiing a little closer to home!!

I am in the sme boat apart from mine is booked and part paid for!!

Friend from work agreed to come to Italy endof January so I found flghts and some great accommodation DIY and now he has a new girlfriend he is off on Holiday to the sun with her, so leaving me high and dry!!

I have flights booked from Stanstead on Thursday 26th January 2012 arriving in Turin at around 11 am it's about a 15 euro transfere by bus and train to Sauze D'oulx where we will be collected by skidoo and taken to the mountain restaurant which is also a hotel whichis located in the middle of piest 33 and 2000 at around 2000 meters.

return flight leaves Turin on Monday 30th January 2012 at around 10pm so we can get 4 full days skiing in for only 3 days off work result!!

Does anybody know how many of the piste of Cervinia are covered by snow cannons?

Gutted if I had of know I would of been game for a road trip, but booked to go with the Mrs to Cervina, I am only just down the road in worksop 2!!

As you say you have already done a season( so 15-20 weeks?) you could:

Ski all of it switch
Practice your GS turns
Get into skinning up
Take some Snowboarding lessons
Chat to local Freeriders in a bar, they'll know places tucked away from the tourists
Consider skiing the same run more than once

I wish I had done 20 weeks, only 2 weeks but I packed the K's in, on my first ever day on the real stuff I cobvered over 40 K's in total, when I said season I wasn't meaning I had skied for the whole of the season, That will come when I move to Canada in 2 years!! Still not looking good in Cervina :cry: :cry:

I know they have started Skiing but I would ski the total area open in a few hours what do I do for the rest of the week??
