Just a quick question really!!
Has anybody stayed with Silverski?
Me and the wife to be are due to have an interview with them on Sunday by skype and just trying to get as much back ground on them as possible.
Out for the resorts they have chalets (Churchevel, Meribel, La Plagne, La Tania) which do you think would be best for doing a season??
we want to be able to ski from the start of the season to the end in the best possible conditions with as much terrain as possible.
we haven't skied any of the resorts, we did visit La Plange in the summer so don't know what to expect of any of the resorts.
We know this is going to be the hardest things we have ever done but as long as I have great skiing we don't care how hard we have to work.
Thanks for any help given!!

Hi Matt,
Good luck with the interview and well done for getting one.
I haven't stayed with Silverski but knew Len Silver back in the '80's when he started. He has built a good reputation over the years and is known for choosing older chalet staff and particularly couples (against the norm).
I think you will have a brilliant season in any of the resorts and are probably best waiting to see where/what they offer.
Enjoy, do keep in touch when you are living out there next winter.

I will be happy were ever we end up just if we get the choice I don't want to make the wrong one!!
Things seem to be looking good for this year, Honeymoon is all sorted 1 months travel around each New Zealand, Malaysia and Indonesia then return for the ski season.
Had news today that we have an interview for crystal ski as well and to top this great week off it's snowing for fun in New Zealand, only 18 weeks and we will be on the slopes at Treble cone

With your current winning streak, you should definitely do the lottery this week!
Good luck with the interviews.

Hi There. Yes, stayed with Silver Ski a couple of times-both times in La Plagne where Len Silver has got about 12 or so chalets (maybe more). Found them good quality for the price, met Len Silver as he was staying in our chalet Le Boin Coin I think and he is probably now about 65 to 70 and has got well established and as far as I could make out runs a reliable company with a good reputation.
I wouldn't know if it is a problem or not but both Courcheval and Meribel have got horrendously expensive (bars, restaurants etc.) probably down to the large influx of Russians. Anyway, good luck with the application and you probably won't go far wrong with Silver Ski.

Pole Plant, that's good to know about Courcheval and Meribel, we are traveling for 3 months before doing the ski season so we won't have much money in the bank when we get out to resort and I believe you have to wait a month to get paid!!

We had some friends work for SilverSki a few years ago... Make sure you ask about what your wage will be, and if you have to sign a contract make sure it states your wage clearly. Our friends got a certain amount of cash out of which they had to shop for the week and pay themselves with what was left, This is a very bad system as they weren't even given enough to shop with, 12 people need a lot of food, and you need a wage... which would you be willing to sacrifice?

Agree Courcheval and Merebel have got horrifically expensive. La Plagne has huge ski area including Les Arc on the same lift pass., high enough for reliable snow.
Stayed with Silver Ski about 15 years ago several times. Chalets were comfortable but not luxurious. Good locations.
