My exclusions also say "directly or indirectly from using alcohol or drugs" which I take to mean if you're obvioulsy wasted. My understanding would be if you're completely pissed this would appear on the medical notes and the insurerers would have reason to not pay out. If you've just had one beer who knows.
Interestingly last year I did an experiment. I found myself often falling over in the afternoon. I put this down to my own tiredness and the deteriorating condition of the piste. Mrs Smoothie thought it might be my lunchtime beer so I switched to hot chocs. I didn't fall over once for the rest of the week. Steve |

Soll or any of the other Skiwelt resorts are nice. We've had some cracking deals in Scheffau and Itter before but these places are a little out of the way and not as lively as Soll.

So I've always hired my skis through the tour operator and it's been fine. I've always gone for the lowest grade as I've only been skiing for about 6 years and got 7 weeks under my belt.
Last year I pre-booked through SkiSet as they were offering 20% discount. The store wasn't a T/O store. I thought I'd upgrade to silver skis and boots instead of bronze. Well this year I thought I'd pre book through SnowBrainer as they're offering a 25% discount. My rather long winded question is, how do I know that when I get to shop they don't just take one look at me and give me the crappest skis even if I book decent ones? Thanks Steve |

It's been mentioned here before but Aldi have a ski sale on:
http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/offers_week52Monday10.htm I would say don't buy cheap gloves from Aldi though. Wet and cold hands are rubbish. It's controversial but think about a helment too. Happy skiing! Steve |

Not sure if these would be suitable for a 65 year old, but I'm 37 and I've been doing body weight training. It uses my own body weight to build and tone muscle in thighs, backside and core muscles.
Have a look here: http://www.30plusmensfitness.com/video/body-weight-basics-1/ Cheers Steve |

Skiset are very good and yes we get a 20% discount on the shop's listed price. You have to find the link from here though.

They're all different. The resorts will tell you anything to make you feel happy about it.
Is the depth of snow going to stop you going? If so then you should probably take 3 different reports and take a mean value of all 3. If you've already booked, go with the deepest and get very very excited! |
