As them what their claims record is like!

We were there over New Year and the worst queues on the links were 15-20 minutes, and NY is normally at least as busy as February.

And it's shorter leaving the motorway on the GVA side of Annecy.
The drive is easy: Annecy to Albertville to Moutiers to Brides. Om a clear road no more than an hour and a half. You'd be very unlucky to need chains, but there are rare occasions when you might need them. How much extra does the carehire company charge you to have them? |

rs303: In the evening the only way to get from VT to Meribel is by road. It's between 40 and 50 kms! A taxi would cost you between £100 and £200 at a guess!!!
If snow's a problem in early March it'll be a problem everywhere!!!! anyway, slush was designed for boarders wasn't it? |

Wishing him a speedy recovery.
As has been said, take it gently, but there's every reason to expect to be skiing again soon. |

We tend to use Fogg Travel as they were excellent when we did our seasons. They always used to settle their bills quickly and their medicard was widely accepted, unlike some other policies whereby you'll have to pay locally and claim back yourself.
Sadly, you won't know how good your cover is until you actually experience a claim, by which stage it is too late. It's probably worth a call to the insurer to check their off piste definition and clarify any areas of concern. Keep a record of who you spoke to and when incase of a subsequent dispute. |

I skied Cascades on Wednesday - good snow all the way down with two monster snow blowers on the final section. The road part was great fun but some sections are boring. Don't start from the DMC in Flaine, do it from the left hand chair unless you want to skate the first 1200m!!!
Some nice runs down to Morrilon. Take plenty of thermals - it's been very cold this week - 3 pairs of gloves and still cold hands! |

Modern skis (easier to feel you're better than you are) + greatly increased helmet wearing = more out of control nutters!
Ski manufacturers had to adapt to snowboarding taking away potential 'punters', because back in the early 90's it was far easier and quicker to become proficient on a board than on skis. Fat skis with big side cuts have reversed that to the extent that better and bigger stunts can now be pulled on skis than on a board. As a rugby fan, the same principal of the harder hit because of increased padding. |
