Help with my shortlist

Have stayed in Les Coches once - long cold lift up into the main ski area of La Plagne and very little sun in the village. Also it is rather "soul-less" no real traditional restaurants/bars to speak of. Skied a lot that year in Les Arcs and the skiing there was excellent and varied - agree the Aiguille Rouge is a must. Le Plagne has more intermediate runs but also some very challenging ones (Le Coqs black is the hardest run I have ever skied!). Plagne 1800 is where we stayed last New Year and although it does not have too many bars the Cave is probably one of the best for Apres Ski we have been in :D Most of the accommodation is a short walk to the chair.

Les Sybelles - we stayed in St Jean D'Arves that has a chair up to Le Corbier. Found that area limiting so we tended to drive over to St Sorlin (a few minutes) and the ski-ing there was surprisingly good. However the drive up to the resorts is awful along a very windy, potholed road, some of the lifts are ancient and nightlife is virtually non existent so would not go back.

Have you thought about my all time favourite in the Three Valleys? St Martin de Belleville - access to both the Meribel and Les Menuires/VT sectors very easy with Courchevel over another summit from Meribel. The village retains lots of charm, has three or four good bars and restaurants and up in Les Grangerais lots of self catering accommodation close to the gondola. It is also sunny! Good luck with your lists!

 Should have just asked the barman in O'Malleys to point out the "girl" (hardly - just had a late 40's birthday Dave ) that drank all the wine!!!

You should be able to recognise Col tomorrow night - have a great time you two - Amanda I loved your comments tonight about having nails and hair done, taking straighteners a ton of beauty products and plaster of paris

Lucky you Dave skiing again in the place you love - I have just 3 and half days left in St Martin over Easter. :-o

Congrats on your successful inspection snowb4ndit  We had a rather unsuccessful one last Sept and today have had a mini inspection from LEA in anticipation of the forthcoming interim one from HMI in March. They do another one in Sept/Oct and then fingers crossed we are out of the category . I was not observed today after being up till the wee hours last night - hence my v late posts

I should probably be working on AFL, APP, AF, KS3, KS4 and many other acronyms dreamed up by the government but I should also be getting ready to go and see Slum Dog Millionaire

It was nice to see sun on the nursery slopes - there was none when I was there! Having just come back from St Martin in the 3V my husband has said that he will categorically NOT go anywhere else. Loads of on piste accommadation (cheap too if booked with tourist board or local Immobilier). Lovely village atmosphere, lots of sun during the day and access to the largest ski area in the world. Jerusalem Run (often cited as THE best run in 3V) on your doorstep...Paradise
